Hodges Chapel Baptist Church was organized in fourth Sunday evening in June, 1916 at the Little Zion school house.  Bro. C. A. Morrison was elected Moderator and, later in the business session, called as pastor.  The church was organized with fourteen charter members. In the business session the doors of the church were opened for membership and four came forward.

A building committee was appointed on fourth Sunday night in July, 1916.  The men of the church erected the building on land donated by Isaac and Catherine Hodges.  The first services held in the new building were on the fourth Saturday and Sunday in February, 1917.  This same building is presently the sanctuary having been redecorated and Sunday School rooms added to it through the years.  The building was dedicated to the service of the Lord on Thursday, July 26, 1917 at 3:30 P.M.  The message of dedication was delivered by Bro. J. T. Barker and the prayer of dedication was offered by Bro. Jessie Neal of Uniontown, Kentucky.  Four souls were added to the Lord at this occasion.

A special called meeting was held on the fifth Sunday afternoon of July, 1928 for the purpose of organizing a regular Sunday School each Sunday morning.  The church voted to have Sunday worship every Sunday and call a full-time pastor in 1962.
